re:connect just a few days away

November 29, 2008

re:place magazine’s networking and idea-sharing event, re:connect, takes place this Wednesday, December 3. We are finalizing our list of speakers and have managed to put together a diverse group of people who will discuss a variety of issues that concern all Metro Vancouverites.

Re:connect will give these speakers five minutes to talk about personal or group initiatives/ideas/concepts/plans to spread the word as a means of gaining momentum and forging (hopefully unexpected) partnerships.

These speakers will include Vancouver writer and historian Chuck Davis, who contributes weekly to re:place with his fascinating look at our city’s history in A Year in Five Minutes, and David Beers, editor of The Tyee. Check back in a couple days when we will announce the full line-up of speakers.

Re:connect will take place at The End Cafe (2360 Commercial Drive, just a couple blocks north from the Broadway/Commercial Drive SkyTrain station) on December 3rd at 7pm. Our list of speakers is all full, but we still invite anyone interested to come and listen and perhaps contribute to the ideas being shared at this informal and informative event. Admission is free, but we would like to get an idea of numbers so we ask anyone interested in attending to please RSVP to contributors@regardingplace.com. Or, feel free to let us know you want to join us via our facebook page, where you can find re:connect under the events heading.

Please also feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this event or anything else we are doing at re:place magazine.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at re:connect - hopefully the first of many such events.
